Co-hosting the WeModelUSA Gala and Charity Ball alongside 13x Emmy Winner Darren Haynes (former Sports Anchor for ESPN's SportsCenter)
WEModel USA’s Charity Ball and Gala celebrates with an evening of awareness, fashion, and local talent to stop human trafficking.
It has been a while since I hosted a gig such as this, not just an event to dress up for but also the opportunity to connect with other survivors and advocate for positive action. Victims are often silenced by their abusers, intimidated, threatened, and isolated - often times by those closest to us... I had the privilege to meet other women who have risen above the ashes - no longer victims but victors.
Growing up in this beauty industry, I do understand how empowering a tube of lipstick or a new hair-do look and feels like. My gala hair and makeup is made possible through Bella Li Studio, and it's an honor to collaborate with local survivors, community leaders, and designers from this elegant evening at MGM Grand Casino and Hotel at National Harbor to continue making positive changes for our community and beyond.
This evening celebrates these survivors and educates young women and men to look out for signs to not only protect themselves but also to look out for others.
