Wtih a wide range of waves and curls that natural hair can be, extensions should match that as well. It's only imperative that we chose methods that fits your lifestyle and a texture that is the best match for you. Here are some things to consider in taking care of your curls and your curly hair extensions
Color Service and Treatments | Consider all your professional services and treatments before your installtion day. Whether you are considering highlights, all over color, or you need a keratin treatment, relaxer, deep conditioner treatment - it is best to have the base of your natural hair prepped as the foundation to which I'll be installing your extensions. I always say nothing is impossible but the process goes along much more smoother this way
Texture Matching | In my experience, it is always best to texture match. It is important that your hair is the right texture, ethcially sourced, and the perfect color blend for you. With that being said, the only exception is made when you tell me that your hair is curly but you wear it straight 99.9% of the time - then I think straight hair will be a better fit for you to maintain and enjoy
Installation | Curly hair extensions will be installed straight to of a blending trim.
Home Care | This will be the most important part in your decision to get curly hair hair extensions. Protective styles at home, at sleep, at the beach, in a moving car or boat - don't let it get tangled. Typically, brushing your extensions is recommended to avoid matting and tangles - but we know what all happens to curly hair when you brush it out. With curly extensions, wash days with proper hydration and leave-conditioning will be imperative to matintain your luscious locks. Blow dry and diffuse on medium heat. Brush thoroughly before you air dry. And never leave it wet to bed or in a pony tail Invest in a silk/satin scarf, a sleep bonnet, and curly hair products will give you the best experience outside of the salon with your new hair.
Maintenance | Depending on the method you choose; maintanence will be required every 6-8 weeks for wefts and tape-ins, combline, and vlight hair extensions,. No professional maintenance is required for keratin bonds.
